If you’re wondering how to see how your website ranks on Google, you must understand the SERP. A website’s organic ranking position is the placement of a web page on a search engine results page (SERP). The higher the ranking, the more likely it is that people will click on the link.

There are usually 10 search results per page on Google. However, this can vary depending on the search engine and the query.

The organic ranking position is determined by a number of factors, including the quality of the website’s content, the relevance of the keywords used, and the website’s page speed.

Rankings Show Differently For Everyone: So Don’t Use Google

Google ranking positions can differ depending on who is conducting the search.

if you are searching for a business in your local area, you will likely see websites that are specific to your region near the top of the results page. This is because Google tailors search results based on the user’s location.

Your Browser

The Google Search Results Page can also be affected by a user’s browsing history in a number of ways. For example, if you have visited a website before, Google may display that website higher up on the results page when you conduct another search.

Lastly, if you have searched for a particular topic before, Google may display related websites near the top of the results page. This is because Google wants to provide you with the best possible search experience by showing you websites that are most relevant to your interests.

First, Identify Your Business’s Keywords

Google Keyword Planner

As we mentioned earlier, the first step to check your page rankings on Google is to identify your target keywords & search queries. Open up a Google sheet, and write down all of the specific keywords that your business should be showing up for. These should be your most valuable keywords in association with your products or services.

Remember, when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO), understanding search volume is key. Search volume is the number of people who are actively searching for a particular keyword or phrase on a monthly basis.

If you want your website to rank higher on Google, you need to target keywords and phrases that have high search volume. This is because the more people who are searching for a particular keyword or phrase, the more likely it is that your website will be found by Google.

Once you have a list of keywords, you can use a variety of tools to check your ranking. We’re going to get into our favorite tools shortly.

What is a Good Ranking?

Now that you know how to check your page ranking on Google, you may be wondering what a good ranking is. Unfortunately, there is no “perfect” answer to this question. It largely depends on the competitiveness of your keywords and your industry. Generally speaking, however, a good ranking is anything within the top ten results. Most of the time, for any national ranking, it takes a lot of SEO work, so don’t get discouraged.

Of course, the higher you can rank, the better. According to Moz, Google’s first page captures 71% of search traffic clicks. The second page only accounts for 6%.

But if you’re just starting out, don’t get discouraged if you’re not ranking number one for your target keywords. With time and effort, you can boost your rankings and start getting more organic traffic to your website.

What Affects Google Rankings?

Please keep in mind, that there are many factors that influence a website’s organic ranking position on Google. Some of the top factors include:

  • Domain Rating: The quality and quantity of links pointing to a website.
  • Page Speed: The speed at which a website loads.
  • Organic Traffic: The number of people who click on a website from the SERP. Basically, the more people who click and stay on your page, the higher the page continues to rank.
  • Keywords: The words and phrases that are used on your website.

These are just some of the factors that can affect Google rankings. However, it is important to note that the algorithm is constantly changing and evolving. This means that what may have worked in the past may not work now. As such, it is important to stay up-to-date on the latest SEO trends and practices.

Domain Rating And Page Speed

Domain Rating (DR) is a metric that measures the quality of a website. It is based on a number of factors, including the website’s age, linking root domains, and MozRank.

Page speed is also an important factor in determining a website’s ranking. Google uses a metric called “page speed index” to measure how fast a page loads. The faster the page loads, the higher the ranking.

There are many reasons why it is important for a business to be on the first page of a search engine results page (SERP). Some of these reasons include:

– Increased visibility: When a business is on the first page of a search engine, they are more likely to be seen by potential customers. This is because most people do not click on past the first page of results.

– More traffic: Increased visibility leads to more traffic as people are more likely to click on a website that is higher up on the SERP.

– Greater credibility: Websites that rank higher on search engines are seen as more credible and trustworthy. This is because they are able to maintain their position through SEO best practices.
